WEEE - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The WEEE Directive, which came in to force into July 2007, requires that all waste electrical equipment from a commercial source is collected and recycled separately from all other commercial waste. WEEE is defined as any item which requires an independent power source – in other words if it has a battery or a plug.

NEWS provides a fully compliant waste management service for all non-hazardous and hazardous WEEE, including refrigeration equipment, televisions and monitors (CRTS), computer equipment, household type appliances, and industrial electrical equipment.

Its services include collection, recycling, disposal, container supply and specialist advice.

NEWS will provide all relevant transfer and consignment note paperwork required to ensure that all collections are carried out in full compliance with all applicable legislation and we can assist with Environment Agency Premises Registration.
