Landfill
There is an increasing trend in Europe and now in the UK to move away from landfill. NEWS and SRM have helped to develop ways that will allow Local Authorities and businesses to achieve this aim.
NEWS has many years of experience designing, building and maintaining landfill sites.
Each landfill site is designed and constructed by NEWS' own civil engineering department and is fully engineered in accordance with current standards set by the Environment Agency.
It now operates one site at Edgefield in Norfolk, which is licensed to receive household, non-hazardous industrial and commercial wastes. Our other landfill sites are now full and closed and continue to be maintained in accordance with all legal requirements.
It also has waste transfer stations at Costessey, King’s Lynn and Caister-on-Sea.
